Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is confident that the England Under-21 side will have a good tournament at the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Kane enjoyed a superlative season with the Lilywhites and went on to score 31 goals in all competitions. He also earned a call-up from England senior national team manager Roy Hodgson, and subsequently went on to make his Three Lions debut against Lithuania – a match in which he netted his first senior international goal.

This summer, he is part of Gareth Southgate’s Under-21 side as they prepare to face Portugal in their first group stage game tonight. Italy and Sweden are the other two teams in their group.

And Kane, who has eight goals in 11 appearances for the England Under-21 side, is confident that they will do well in the competition and hopes to come home with the trophy.

“We had a great qualifying campaign and I’m really excited to be at the finals”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.
