French giants Lyon are continuing to push to sign Jason Denayer on loan from Manchester City, according to French daily Le Progres.

Les Gones had been hoping to tempt AC Milan into parting with Adil Rami, but the Rossoneri have priced the former Valencia defender out of reach.

And Lyon have turned their attention to Denayer, someone they want to take on loan from Manchester City for the forthcoming season.

Denayer spent the season on loan at Scottish giants Celtic and helped them to a Premiership and League Cup double.

The Belgian international made 44 appearances in all competitions for Celtic this season, establishing himself as a key man under Norwegian boss Ronny Deila.

Celtic had been keen to keep hold of the 19-year-old, but he insisted on returning to Manchester City.

A switch to Lyon would allow Denayer to turn out in a more competitive league and play in the Champions League after Les Gones finished second in Ligue 1 this season.

As a result he could come face to face with Celtic, with the Scottish side also in next season's Champions League.
