French Ligue 1 side Lille have asked Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for striker Yaya Sanogo on loan for next season.

The northern French club are looking to bring in a striker over the summer transfer window and have tried their luck for Sanogo.

According to French magazine Le 10 Sport, Lille's request has gone in to Wenger, who has asked for time to consider the option before he provides his answer.

Lille view their chances of landing Sanogo on loan at around 50-50.

Wenger sent the young Frenchman out on loan to Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace for the second half of last season in order to provide him with regular first team experience in the Premier League.
