Hugo Lloris could leave Tottenham Hotspur for just €25m this summer if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy honours a promise made to the Frenchman.

The custodian is increasingly being looked towards by Manchester United as a replacement for David de Gea, and the Red Devils will be encouraged by the prospect of snapping up Lloris for an amount similar to that they could receive for the Spaniard.

Indeed, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, when Lloris agreed to extend his contract with Spurs until the summer of 2019, he received a promise from Levy that he would be allowed to leave if a bid of €25m arrived.

The agreement with the Spurs chairman was verbal, with it being unclear whether anything to the same effect was written into the goalkeeper's contract.

The France international goalkeeper is keen on moving to Manchester United, which would see him play Champions League football next season, something which has eluded him since he joined Spurs.

Lloris last played in the Champions League for Lyon, turning out against APOEL in March 2012 and he is desperate to taste the competition once again.

The former Lyon man is now hoping Levy will respect their verbal agreement if Manchester United do come calling this summer with a €25m bid.

Lloris believes the chance to sign for the Red Devils would be too good to turn down, but it remains to be seen whether Spurs will play ball.
