Former Chelsea and Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has agreed a move to Chinese Super League giants Shanghai Shenhua.

The Chinese club announced this evening that they have reached an agreement to sign Ba from Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas.




Ba is due in Shanghai, via Beijing, tomorrow afternoon (Chinese time) when he will undergo his medical with the club.

The striker was prolific for Besiktas last season, netting on 27 occasions in 44 games in all competitions.
 

 

Now he has been tempted east with a big-money move to China.

The former Chelsea striker will link up with ex-Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko, whose own move to Shanghai Shenhua was announced yesterday.

No information on the length of contract Ba will pen with the Chinese side has been released.

The 30-year-old also counts German side Hoffenheim, English outfit West Ham and Belgian club Excelsior Mouscron amongst his former clubs.
