Southampton are eager to add Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna to their ranks, according to Sky Italia.

Ogbonna joined the Turin giants in the summer of 2013, but he has failed to break into the first team and last season, he was reduced to 18 starting appearances in the league.

Bologna are keen on signing the central defender and Southampton have also joined the race for the 27-year-old.

Ronald Koeman’s side have made it to the Europa League and they want to add more depth in their squad in order to fight on all fronts.

The Saints, who have already acquired Cedric Soares from Sporting Lisbon and Juanmi from Malaga, are willing to pay €10m for the defender to sign him on a permanent deal. They were previously seeking a loan move for the Italian.
