Fulham are in the final stages of talks with Besiktas over loaning striker Kostas Mitroglou to the Turkish club, according to Inside Futbol sources.

The Black Eagles, who are looking to replace Demba Ba following his switch to Shanghai Shenhua, have zeroed in on Mitroglou.

Fulham have agreed to a one-year loan for Mitroglou, for which Besiktas will pay the Cottagers a fee of £1m.

Mitroglou himself will net €2.1m from the loan spell in Istanbul.

Talks to put the finishing touches to the deal are still ongoing in London, but Besiktas are hopeful the 27-year-old will be on his way to Turkey.

Fulham snapped Mitroglou up from Greek giants Olympiacos in the 2014 winter transfer window, but he struggled for fitness and failed to help the Cottagers avoid relegation to the Championship.

Mitroglou was loaned out to Olympiacos last season, featuring on a regular basis for the Greek outfit and helping his old club win the Super League title.

He now appears set to sample football in Turkey next term.
