Sevilla have made an offer to former Celtic striker John Guidetti in a bid to acquire him this summer, according to Spanish daily Sport.

Guidetti is owned by Manchester City and his existing contract with the Premier League giants concludes today.

The Swede spent last season on loan at Scottish giants Celtic and netted 15 goals and provided 12 assists for his team-mates to help his side clinch a domestic double of the league title and the League Cup.

The Andalusian side are grappling with the loss of their prolific marksman Carlos Bacca, who appears to have all but sealed his move to AC Milan.

The reigning Europa League champions are eager to add Guidetti to their ranks as they consolidate their side for the coming season, in which they will also compete in the Champions League.

Guidetti has been with Manchester City since 2008, although he failed to make his mark with the Citizens and spent loan spells with several sides during his seven years at the club.

He has earned two caps for the Sweden national team and is currently plying his trade for his country's Under-21 side at the Under-21 Euros in the Czech Repulic.
