Real Madrid new boy Danilo is delighted to become part of Los Blancos and is looking forward to plying his trade for the team when the new season kicks off.

Danilo’s signature was secured earlier this year from Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit FC Porto and he will be joining forces with Real Madrid soon.

The Brazil international made 41 appearances in all competitions for Porto and contributed seven goals and five assists to their cause as they finished second in the league and reached the quarter-final of the Champions League last season.

At the Santiago Bernabeu he will be fighting with Dani Carvajal for a first team spot at right-back under manager Rafael Benitez.

And the Brazilian has revealed that he has had a conversation with Benitez and is looking forward to the start of the new season with Real Madrid.

“I have spoken with Benitez on the phone”, the 23-year-old told Madrid-based daily Marca in an interview.

“I told him how my recovery was, we talked a little about the new challenge.

“It was a brief conversation, but I came to understand that he cared for me and that made me very happy.

“Any player should feel very proud of their work if they get a call from Real Madrid, the world's greatest club”, he concluded.

Real Madrid ended last season without major silverware and Danilo will be keen to help them get back amongst the trophies next season.
