Any imminent move for Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez has been put in doubt after he sustained a serious injury last night.

The forward injured himself while playing for Mexico against Honduras in a Gold Cup warm-up match and was immediately taken to a hospital for further inspection.

Though the Mexican FA are yet to confirm the seriousness of the injury, Hernandez has suffered a broken collarbone, which could scupper any thoughts of a transfer this summer, and is likely to see him out for at least a month.

The 27-year-old is set to return to Manchester United after a disappointing loan spell at Real Madrid, but Louis van Gaal is willing to offload him to make way for fresh faces this summer.

Clubs such as Inter and Atletico Madrid have been touted as his suitors and Liverpool are also reportedly interested in signing the Mexican.

Hernandez has been recently linked with a shock move to Major League Soccer side Orlando City.

And according to Orlando’s WKMG-TV Local 6 news network, his agents have been in negotiations with the MLS club for weeks.

However, the latest injury setback could jeopardise his attempts to leave Manchester United this summer.
