Bobby Adekanye, who was on the books at Spanish giants Barcelona, has claimed that he has completed a move to Liverpool, posting a photograph of himself at the club and announcing the news.

Just 16 years old, word that the talent was heading to Liverpool leaked out at the start of this week, with his agent confirming Adekanye was "95 per cent" joining the Merseyside giants.

Adekanye was a victim of Barcelona's FIFA-imposed transfer ban, which meant he had to be loaned out to PSV Eindhoven last season.

The left winger grew tired of waiting for the chance to play for Barcelona and has instead opted to continue his career in England.

PSV Eindhoven wanted to keep hold of Adekanye, but the youngster and his representative were convinced that joining Liverpool was the right move.

The player's agent Josep María Minguella said: "Liverpool's confidence is great.

"If Bobby continues to develop as over the past few years, they see him as a first team player.

"He starts with the Under-18 team and the club have a plan that is mapped out to tutor him to get him into the first team in a few years."

Adekanye has been capped for the Netherlands at Under-16 level and has been long tipped to reach the top of the game.
