Real Madrid’s summer transfer window is expected to be centred on the two key figures of David de Gea and Sergio Ramos, according to Spanish TV Programme El Chiringuito.

De Gea’s contract with Manchester United runs out at the end of next season and he is yet to sign a new deal at Old Trafford.

The Spaniard is wanted at the Bernabeu and Real Madrid have been trying hard to negotiate a fee with Manchester United for the signature of the 24-year-old.

While Manchester United have continued to stall negotiations for De Gea, their pursuit of Ramos is believed to have taken the Real Madrid hierarchy by surprise.

The defender’s relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is on a continuous downward spiral and he has reportedly told the club that he wants to join Manchester United this summer.

While senior figures at Manchester United have realised that they won’t be able to keep De Gea at Old Trafford, they have been bullish about their chances of landing Ramos and have already tabled a bid for him.

Real Madrid’s summer plans are revolving around De Gea and Ramos. The club are desperate to sign the Manchester United goalkeeper before they leave for their pre-season tour later this month.

However, they are also keen to resolve Ramos’ future as soon as possible and look to sign a replacement if the Spaniard eventually decides to leave.

While they have been linked with a number of players, signing the Manchester United custodian and resolving their senior player’s future at the club remain Real Madrid’s primary concerns at the moment.
