Manchester United linked Ilkay Gundogan has refused to rule out a move away from Borussia Dortmund in the future, but says he is not considering leaving in the January transfer window.

The Germany international was heavily touted to be on his way out of Dortmund this summer and was linked with a move to the Premier League.

Gundogan was believed to be close to sealing a move to Manchester United and Arsenal were also said to be interested in the midfielder.

However, after months of speculation the midfielder signed a new two-year contract with Dortmund and is set to stay at the Westfalenstadion beyond the summer.

He refused to completely rule out a transfer from the Westfalenstadion and kept the door open for his suitors for an approach in the future.

However, he stressed that his transfer should benefit all the stakeholders involved.

Speaking to German magazine Kicker, Gundogan said: “For me it was always clear that all sides must benefit from it.

“I cannot say this will never happen; maybe in a year, maybe in two years.”

However, he ruled out a move in January and said: “A departure in the winter is not on the table.”

Gundogan has made 117 appearances for the club and is expected to play a crucial role next season under new Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel.

He has also earned eleven caps for Germany.
