Manchester United have officially confirmed that winger Nani has left the club for Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce.

Nani spent last season away from Old Trafford on loan at Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, but was not in Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal's plans for the new season.

He arrived in Istanbul yesterday and quickly put the finishing touches to his move to the Yellow Canaries.

Manchester United announced on their official site: "Manchester United winger Nani has completed a move to Fenerbahce.

"The Portugal international spent last season with his former club Sporting Lisbon but has accepted the offer of a fresh challenge in Turkey after arriving in Istanbul over the weekend to finalise the transfer", the statement added.

Nani made a total of 230 appearances for Manchester United over the course of eight years at the club, having joined in 2007 from Sporting Lisbon.

Fenerbache are one of Manchester United's potential opponents in their Champions League playoff round at the start of the season, meaning Nani could soon be coming face to face with his former club.

The Yellow Canaries have also been linked with signing Robin van Persie from the Red Devils.
