Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are squaring off for the signature of young French midfielder Olivier Kemen this summer.

The captain of France's Under-19 side currently turns out for Newcastle United, although he has not yet managed a single first team appearance for the Magpies.

And if Liverpool or Tottenham have their way, the 18-year-old may end up never turning out for the Magpies senior side.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, both Liverpool and Spurs are in talks to snap up the young talent, having noted his potential.

At St. James' Park, Kemen has seen his action limited to the Under-21 Premier League, a stage which has allowed a number of sides to run the rule over him.
