New Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has underlined his personal expectations with the Reds.

The Brazilian, who signed for the Anfield outfit last month, has expressed his delight at joining his new club and is excited to play in the Premier League.

"First and foremost, I’m looking forward to the new challenge and I’m excited to see what the Premier League has to offer", he told Hoffenheim's official website.

The 23-year-old believes Liverpool will be a new learning curve for him and help him improve as a player as he will have to adapt to the rigours of English football after spending four seasons in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim.

"Of course everything will once again be new to me at the start. I’m going to have to get used to a new playing style, but I’ll also get the opportunity to improve my game even further there.”

Firmino is hoping to win trophies at his new club, but says his first task is to establish himself as a starter in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

"Obviously I’d like to establish myself as a starter in my new team and go on to celebrate a lot of success at Liverpool.”

The Brazil international will join up with his club-mates after earning an extended break due to his exertions with the national team at the Copa America.
