West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has hailed the Hammers’ supporters for their devotion for the team, saying that it is a privilege to have such support.

Bilic has been given the reins of the Upton Park outfit following the departure of Sam Allardyce following their 12th placed finish in the league standings after a promising start to their league campaign last term.

The Hammers defeated Lusitanos 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Diafra Sakho and a strike from James Tomkins in the first leg of their first qualifying round tie of the Europa League and are set to face the Andorran outfit in the second leg today.

And Bilic has heaped praise on the travelling supporters of the Hammers, ahead of today’s clash.

“West Ham fans are special, of course”, the Croat told his club’s site.

“I’m an ex-West Ham player and manager now, but it’s not just me – many players who have nothing to do with West Ham say it’s a special cub with special fans.

“It’s a big privilege for us to have that kind of support.

"They are coming to the game today and it’s great because we need their support.

“It’s a great trip, because maybe they would never go to Andorra if it wasn’t for the game.

“Everything points to a good day, and all we can do is play a good game.”

Having taken a commanding lead from the first leg at Upton Park, the Premier League giants will be favourites to book their passage to the next round.
