Antalyaspor president Gultekin Gencer says that he is convinced that he is on the brink of bringing Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes to the club.

Gencer has adopted an ambitious approach in the transfer market this season, tempting former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o to the club, while Ronaldinho has been tipped to join him.

Antalyaspor now want to add Valdes to their squad and Gencer feels that the signing of the Spaniard, who is second choice behind David de Gea at Old Trafford, is not too far off.

Gencer was quoted as saying by Eurosport: "Valdes wants to join Antalyaspor.

"I am convinced that the transfer will be officially completed within a few days", the Antalyaspor president added.

Valdes linked up with Manchester United earlier this year after shaking off a cruciate knee ligament injury he picked up with Barcelona in 2014.

The goalkeeper has played just twice for the Red Devils though, with De Gea preferred between the sticks by Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

Valdes played with both Eto'o and Ronaldinho at Barcelona and could reunite with the pair in Turkey at Super Lig club Antalyaspor.
