Former Leeds United consultant Graham Bean says that text messages the club's former head coach Neil Redfearn has could land owner Massimo Cellino in hot water with the Football Association and the Football League.

Controversial Italian businessman Cellino had to stand down as the relevant person at Leeds for a portion of last season due to failing the Football League's owners' and directors' test.

He was expected not to have any contact over footballing matters with Redfearn, who at the time was head coach.

But Bean, who was himself sacked by Cellino last season after operating as a consultant for the Whites, claims that Redfearn has texts which place the Italian "in potential breach of his ban".

Bean took to Twitter to write: "Texts in existence which puts MC in potential breach of his ban – FA and FL will be interested to see them."

The implications of breaking the Football League's ban could be serious for Cellino, who has since returned to his post of chairman at Elland Road.

A former owner of Italian side Cagliari, Cellino is now on his fifth Leeds manager in the little over a year that he has owned the Yorkshire giants.

Already a section of the club's fans have turned against him and there is some discontent over his running of the club.
