Nicolas Otamendi is ready to lower his salary demands in order to join Manchester United this summer.

The defender, through his agent, has made it clear that he is keen to leave Valencia before the start of the new season.

Los Che and the Red Devils have been at loggerheads regarding Otamendi since the winter window and the Spanish giants have made it clear that they are not willing to sell the player if Manchester United are not prepared to pay his full release clause of €50m.

The English giants are unwilling to pay that figure and are claimed to have told the player’s agent that they won’t go beyond the figure of €40m.

Otamendi is said to be desperate to engineer his exit from Valencia and is keen to resolve his future before 26th July, the day he is scheduled to report for pre-season training with the club.
