Roma have placed a new bid on Manchester City’s table for the signature of striker Edin Dzeko.

The Giallorossi have been on the forward’s trail for months and have been trying to reach an agreement with Manchester City for some time now.

They were recently shocked to learn that Manchester City are demanding €30m plus bonuses for the 29-year-old and the Giallorossi are unwilling to spend such a sum.

However, Roma are not keen to give up on their pursuit of Dzeko yet and club sporting director Walter Sabatini arrived in Manchester yesterday for a fresh round of negotiations with the Citizens.

According to Sky Italia, Sabatini has made a new bid worth €20m for the Bosnian international and is optimistic of reaching an agreement with Manchester City soon.

Roma have offered to make an initial payment of €15m for the forward and the rest will be paid based on his performances at the Stadio Olimpico.

Dzeko has, it has been claimed in Italy, already agreed personal terms with Roma and is only waiting for the clubs to agree a fee before he makes his move to Italy this summer.

Roma are also hoping that the forward’s desire to leave will play a key role in convincing Manchester City to accept their offer.
