Guinea forward Fode Koita is on the verge of joining Championship side Blackburn Rovers this summer.

The 24-year-old is a free agent after he refused to sign a new deal at Caen and is set to be on his way to England in the current transfer window.

Blackburn Rovers are claimed to be interested in the forward and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Championship side are close to signing him this summer on a free transfer.

Koita is expected to soon sign a three-year contract with the club and could link up with his new team-mates before the season starts next month.

Blackburn are keen to build a squad capable of launching a promotion bid next season and will be hoping that the Guinea forward plays a crucial role in that endeavour.
