Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler has revealed Nicky Ajose has no future at the Elland Road club after he was left out of their pre-season tour of Austria and Norway.

Ajose, who spent the second half of the 2014/15 season on loan at Crewe Alexandra, has been deemed surplus to requirements at Leeds, as confirmed by manager Rosler.

Speaking to LUTV, he said: "We had a good chat with each other.

“I just said to Nicky that he would find it hard to get regular playing time.”

The 46-year-old feels the Whites have too many numbers in certain positions, which requires reducing, and believes the best way to deal with the unwanted players is to be honest with them.

"I feel we have certain areas where we have too many players.

"I think to be honest to players is the best way to be.”

The Elland Road outfit are currently on their pre-season tour of Austria, where they will face German club Eintracht Frankfurt later today, and Rosler has justified Ajose’s non-inclusion in the Whites’ touring party.

"I wanted to concentrate on the players who are in my plans going forward into the season.

"He’s stayed at home, he’s training with the Under-21s and he’s trying to sort out his future. I think that is the best thing for the player and for us”, he added.

The 23-year-old joined Leeds from Peterborough last summer and made his first team debut in a 2-0 defeat to Millwall in the opening game of last season’s league campaign.
