Paris Saint-Germain want to keep hold of defender Lucas Digne, despite him having asked to be sold this summer.

The French champions have been open to selling Digne if an acceptable offer lands on their doormat and they can acquire a suitable replacement.

But neither of the two requirements are close to being met and despite being linked with clubs such as Liverpool and Roma, PSG have yet to receive an official bid for Digne.

They have also come up short on their search for a suitable replacement for the former Lille full-back.

Now, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, PSG are increasingly thinking in terms of keeping hold of Digne and coach Laurent Blanc is delighted with the player's application in pre-season.

"First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave", Blanc was quoted as saying.

"For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies.

"This is firstly a very good thing for him and possibly for us, should he stay with us this season."

Digne is concerned about playing regular first team football, especially with Euro 2016 in France on the horizon.

He was also disappointed at only featuring once in the Champions League for PSG last term.
