Palermo have made a bid worth €18m for Las Palmas forward and Celtic target Sergio Araujo, according to Radio Marca.

Araujo scored 24 league goals and provided eight assists for Las Palmas last season to help them earn promotion to the Spanish top flight via the playoffs.

He has been linked with a move to Ronny Deila’s reigning Scottish champions Celtic as well as Spanish sides Villarreal and Sevilla.

However Palermo, who have recently sold Paulo Dybala to reigning French champions Juventus, have made a bid for the Argentine as they attempt to fill the vacancy left by their departed star.

Araujo started his football education at Argentine giants Boca Juniors in 2009 and had loan stints with Barcelona B, Tigre and Las Palmas, before the Canary Island outfit bought him outright.
