Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, has disappointed his suitors by promising to stay at current club Borussia Dortmund.

The former Saint-Etienne striker scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga last term despite his club's struggles, which led to the departure of Jurgen Klopp as coach at the end of the season.

His exploits have seen him linked with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal and Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs this summer, but Aubameyang is thinking along the lines of remaining in the Ruhr.

"Dortmund largely have the ability to win trophies", the Gabonese told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, giving his current side a big vote of confidence.

"I'm happy here", he continued.

"You can take it for granted that I will stay."

Dortmund are keen to make sure they do not lose Aubameyang this summer and are trying to convince the striker to put pen to paper on a contract extension at the club.

He joined Dortmund in the summer of 2013 from French Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne, putting pen to paper on a contract with the club until 2018.

Next term will be his first under Thomas Tuchel, Dortmund's new coach.
