Sevilla are ready to hold out for Tottenham Hotspur to lower their asking price for Roberto Soldado until the final few days of the summer transfer window, it has been claimed.

Los Rojiblancos want to add Soldado to their striking options for the forthcoming campaign, but have been stung by Spurs asking for €17m in order to sell the former Valencia hitman.

Sevilla rate Soldado more around the €12m mark and have backed off taking their interest any further so far.

According to Seville-based sports daily Super Deporte, the Spanish side are ready to hold on until the very end of the transfer window in order to do a deal for the striker.

Sevilla are convinced that Spurs are desperate to offload Soldado and will lower their price significantly if their stance means they risk having him still at White Hart Lane when the transfer window closes.

It remains to be seen if Spurs will rethink their stance on Soldado, who has been firmly relegated to a backup role at the club due to the emergence of Harry Kane.

The 30-year-old cost Spurs €30m to sign from Valencia in 2013.
