Manchester United target Thomas Muller is expected to receive a pay rise at Bayern Munich soon.

The German champions have made it clear that they won’t allow of any more of their players to join Manchester United this summer after Bastian Schweinsteiger made the switch to Old Trafford earlier this month.

Despite Bayern Munich’s insistence, Manchester United are still keen to prise Muller away from Bavaria and have reportedly made a big money offer for the player.

Bayern Munich have rejected their offer and the club hierarchy have insisted that the forward is not for sale at any price this summer.

To further display their resolve regarding Muller, the club are set to offer a new lucrative contract to the Germany international to dent Manchester United’s hopes, according to German magazine Sport Bild.

The Red Devils have also offered to make Muller one of the top earners in the world, but Bayern Munich are confident that their offer of a pay rise will do enough to stop the forward’s head from turning towards Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal wants to add a big name signing to his squad this summer and Muller is one of his main targets, but Bayern Munich are adamant that they won’t allow their former manager to cherry pick another one of their players after Schweinsteiger.

Muller is said to be a big part of Bayern Munich’s future and the club are keen to take all the steps necessary to keep him at the Allianz Arena.
