Arsenal have completed the signing of Ajax Amsterdam starlet Donyell Malen.

The 16-year-old turned down an offer from the Dutch side to extend his contract and chose to move to the north London outfit instead.

Wim Jonk, head of Ajax youth academy, has said that it is unfortunate to see the youngster move away from the Dutch club in favour of the Premier League heavyweights.

"Donyell is a great talent”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

“It is extremely unfortunate that he is leaving Ajax. We made him an excellent offer and presented a clear development plan, but the player still made a choice, which is disappointing.”
