Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski is relishing the prospect of linking up with his new team-mate Arturo Vidal, saying that the Chilean is superb player, who contributes in defence as well as attack.

Vidal has completed his move from Juventus this summer and will be lining up for the reigning Bundesliga champions in the forthcoming campaign, where the Bavarian giants will attempt to win their fourth successive league title.

Lewandowski has been at the Allianz Arena since last summer, when he landed from Signal Iduna Park outfit Borussia Dortmund and went to have a successful inaugural campaign under manager Pep Guardiola.

In an interview with his club’s site, when the forward was asked about his first impressions of Vidal, he replied: “I can’t say a lot just yet, and he needs to settle in first.

“But I’m delighted he’s on my team now and not facing us as an opponent – as a striker you never enjoy it against players like him.”

The Poland international further added that he is sure the Chilean’s addition to Bayern Munich’s ranks will make them stronger as he contributes greatly in both attack as well as defence.
