Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has indicated that David de Gea could soon leave the club this summer.

De Gea’s future at Manchester United has been the subject of speculation for months as he has been widely linked with a move to Real Madrid.

However, the Spanish giants have found it hard to negotiate a deal with the Red Devils and they are unwilling to meet the financial demands made by the English giants.

While Manchester United have been bullish about their chances of keeping the Spaniard at the club for one more season, there is speculation that with the start of the new campaign just a week-and-a-half away, all parties are keen to resolve the situation soon.

De Gea played the first 45 minutes of their 2-0 friendly loss to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this morning and was taken off at the break.

With the speculation surrounding his future refusing to die down, the Dutchman did say that the situation is not at the best interests of either the player or the club.

"We have a situation that is not favourable for David de Gea, neither for us and neither for the club that, maybe, he wants to go", Van Gaal was quoted as saying by the BBC.

Despite signing Sergio Romero, Van Gaal is expected to dip into the market for another goalkeeper if De Gea leaves for Real Madrid this summer.
