Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri insists that he has been working on the various aspects of his game as he looks to command the penalty box and be leader.

The 24-year-old was one of the prominent faces for the Peacocks last season, managing a total of 44 appearances with 12 clean sheets.

However, the youngster is still hungry for more, stressing the need to improve further to become a leader inside the box. For that purpose, Silvestri revealed that he is working with goalkeeping coach Richard Hartis on the various aspects of the game.

Dealing with crosses is one such area that the former Chievo man feels he needs improvement in and while admitting that he is in no way a top player yet, he is eager to learn from the coach and is working hard.

"I’m working hard with the coach to improve my high catch on crosses”, Silvestri told his club's official website.

“I know I have to improve and be a leader in the box.

“We have worked on that a lot and I want to improve my whole game every day.

“I’m not a top player and I’m young so I want to improve every day and work every day.

“I have to be part of the team and better speaking about the defending – the coach wants this and for me to command my box."

Drawing references from the match against Hoffenheim on 25th July, the youngster insisted that venturing outside the box is a new aspect of the game he has to work on.

“Against Hoffenheim I think I went out of the box more than I did in the whole of last season. It’s a new style of play for me and I have to work on that.”
