Leeds United executive director Adam Pearson has confirmed the club will not be receiving any money from Aston Villa's sale of Fabian Delph to Manchester City.

Delph was schooled in the youth ranks at Leeds, but was sold by the Whites to Aston Villa in 2009 with the Yorkshire giants floundering in the lower leagues.

This summer Delph took advantage of a clause in his contract with Aston Villa to move on to Manchester City for just £8m.

It had been thought Leeds could net a windfall from the switch, but Pearson insists that is not the case.

Speaking on Sky Sports News 92 Live, Pearson said: "There's nothing came through on Fabian.

"That buy-out cut us out of that", he added.

Delph clocked up a total of 58 appearances during his time at Leeds, scoring six goals. He went on to make 128 appearances for Aston Villa, scoring eight times.

The midfielder, who has been capped by England on six occasions, is under contract with Manchester City until 2020 after penning a five-year deal with the Citizens.
