Manchester United have made an offer of €27m to Barcelona for the transfer of forward Pedro Rodriguez, it has been claimed.

With Angel di Maria close to joining Paris Saint-Germain, the Red Devils are keen to sign a replacement soon and have made their move for the Barcelona forward.




Representatives of both clubs opened official talks for the transfer of the 28-year-old yesterday and Manchester United have made an initial offer for the Spaniard.

According to Catalan daily Sport, Manchester United have placed an offer of €27m on Barcelona’s table for Pedro and are close to reaching an agreement for the Spaniard’s signing.
 


While Barcelona were keen to get around €30m from the sale of Pedro, a deal is close to being agreed for a fee of around €26m to €27m with bonus payments of around €6m.

Louis van Gaal has asked the club to seal the deal as soon as possible and Pedro could play his final match for Barcelona against Roma in a friendly tomorrow at the Camp Nou.

Pedro has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils and is just waiting for the clubs to agree a fee before he travels to England to complete the switch.

It remains to be seen whether Pedro could complete his switch to Manchester United in time to be in the squad for their season opener against Tottenham on Saturday.
