In-demand striker Felipe Avenatti says he is not going to push for a move away from Italian side Ternana and would not be displeased to remain at the club after the transfer window closes.

The tall Uruguayan striker has been widely linked with leaving the Serie B side amid interest from Aston Villa, Leeds United and Watford in England, and Cagliari in Italy.

However, he is still at Ternana and is vowing not to be distracted by the transfer speculation, insisting he could live without moving and is focused on his pre-season preparations.

"I am only thinking about training. I am waiting to understand the club's intentions", he explained to Sporterni.it.

"I feel good here. I am calm and if I were to stay then I would not be sorry", Avenatti continued.

However, the Uruguayan is clear that if he is offered the chance to test his skills at a higher level outside Italy, he would be keen to grab the opportunity.

"If there was a chance to improve by going to play abroad or in a higher league, I would go, but otherwise I'll stay here without any problems.

"I am young and I know that everything depends on me."

Avenatti turned heads with his commanding displays in Serie B with Ternana last term, scoring 13 goals in all competitions for the club and proving a handful for opposing defences with his height.

Just 22 years old, the River Plate Montevideo youth product is locked down on a contract with Ternana until the summer of 2017, having arrived at the Italian outfit in 2013.
