Arsenal are making a late attempt to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s imminent move for Lyon forward Clinton Njie.

The Gunners have been interested in the 21-year-old striker, but Tottenham are the ones who took the initiative to reach an agreement with Lyon over a fee.

Njie has already completed the first part of his medical with Tottenham and was supposed to sign a five-year contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

However, their north London rivals are seeking to throw a spanner in the works as according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Arsenal have made a late enquiry with Lyon for Njie.

Lyon are claimed to have put Njie’s imminent move to White Hart Lane on hold and are waiting for Arsenal to place a concrete offer on their table.
