Club Brugge coach Michel Preud'homme feels Manchester United’s third goal last night could turn out to be decisive in their Champions League playoff tie.

Club Brugge were fighting the odds against Manchester United at Old Trafford but an early lead, courtesy an own goal from Michael Carrick, gave the visitors confidence.

However, two succulent strikes from Manchester United new boy Memphis Depay gave the home side the advantage and Marouane Fellaini’s stoppage time goal gave Van Gaal’s team a clear lead going into next week’s second leg in Belgium.

And Preud'homme admits that the his compatriot’s last second goal could turn out to be the killer blow for Club Brugge, who will now need a shock 2-0 win at home to cause an upset in the tie.

The Club Brugge coach admits that their job became tougher after Fellaini’s strike but stressed that they have still not lost hope of making it to the Champions League group stage.
