Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio is poised to link up with West Brom after arriving at the club's training ground to undergo a medical, according to ITV.

Fazio will undergo medical checks with Tony Pulis' men and then discuss personal terms ahead of potentially sealing a move to the Hawthornes.

West Brom are hopeful of quickly wrapping up the signing of the Argentine, with the aim being to draft him into their squad to face Chelsea on Sunday.

The 28-year-old centre-back only joined Spurs last year from Spanish outfit Sevilla, but appears to have now been declared surplus to requirements by boss Mauricio Pochettino.

He will become yet another central defender to leave White Hart Lane this summer after Spurs parted ways with Younes Kaboul, who joined Sunderland, and Vlad Chiriches, who headed to Napoli.

Fazio was reported to have cost Spurs a fee of around £8m and penned a four-year deal with the club last summer.

It is unclear how much they will recoup by selling him to West Brom.
