An 11-year-old aspiring footballer has been invited to train within Liverpool's academy set-up in Scandinavia after being rejected by Swedish club Kalmar FF.

The unnamed 11-year-old hopeful attended Kalmar's academy, but was let go after just a single training session.

His father was stunned and wrote to Kalmar daily Barometern, informing the paper of the incident. He explained: "We were shocked and concerned."

However, the man who works for Liverpool's academy in Scandinavia, Bernt Jo Vole, has invited the youngster to the Reds' academy.

Vole believes that it is impossible to fully form an opinion of how good a player can eventually be at just 11 years old and believes that any youngster can be made better.
