Aston Villa have shown interest in former Arsenal striker Gervinho, but following a meeting with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini did not put enough money on the table.

The Villans are reportedly in talks with the Giallorossi for the signature of Adem Ljajic this summer, as they look to add one more flair player to Tim Sherwood’s squad.

However, the Serbian winger was not the only Roma player on Villa’s radar as they were also interested in former Arsenal man Gervinho this summer.

The Villans also made an offer to Roma for the signature of the Ivorian, but according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi rejected the bid as they felt it was too low.

It has been suggested that Roma are keen to offload the 28-year-old, but are not ready to give him away for a knock-down price.
