Marseille are keen on the acquisition of Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva on a loan deal, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

Silva arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this year, but he failed to find a regular starting spot under then manager Carlo Ancelotti and he doesn’t feature prominently in new manager Rafael Benitez’s plans for the ongoing campaign.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to several Spanish clubs on loan and now Marseille have emerged as a likely destination for him.

The French giants have recently appointed former Real Madrid midfielder Michel at the helm after the resignation of Marcelo Bielsa.

And the 52-year-old is keen on bringing Silva to the Stade Velodrome on a loan deal, but no option to make the move permanent is being mooted, it has been claimed.
