Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani this summer, according to French broadcaster Canal+.

Cavani has said in recent days that he is happy at PSG and has indicated that he wants to continue to play his football for Laurent Blanc’s team.

However, the PSG forward has been extensively linked with a move away from the French capital this summer, with clubs such as Manchester United believed to be interested in him.

With Arsenal also believed to be in the market for a top class forward, they were also widely linked with a move for the Cavani, but it has been claimed Wenger is not interested.

It has been claimed that though the Gunners are trying to sign a forward, the Arsenal boss has not shown any inclination to prise Cavani away from the Parc des Princes this summer.
