Rangers' players have saluted their 5-0 romp over Airdrieonians in the Scottish League Cup this evening.

It took only five minutes for the Gers to take the lead at the Excelsior Stadium as Nicky Clark fired them ahead.




Airdrieonians then saw their chances of mounting a comeback go up in a puff of smoke in a two-minute spell as Andy Halliday (14th minute) and Martyn Waghorn (15th) made it 3-0 to Rangers.

Dean Shiels made it 4-0 in the 84th minute before James Tavernier put the icing the cake by striking with only two minutes left in the game, making sure it ended 5-0 to Rangers.
 

 

Mark Warburton's men have now won all seven games in all competitions this season.

Rangers now look forward to taking on Queen of the South in a Scottish Championship game on Sunday.

Queen of the South are the only side other than Rangers in the Championship to have won all three of their league matches so far this season.
