Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is excited about Fenerbahce's Europa League campaign, which will see them lock horns with Scottish champions Celtic.

Van Persie swapped Manchester United for Fenerbahce earlier this summer, but the Turkish outfit failed to navigate the Champions League qualifying rounds and are now in the Europa League.

They have been drawn in Group A of the competition, alongside Celtic, Ajax and Molde.

And Van Persie says the Yellow Canaries are ready for the challenge.

He wrote on Twitter, referring to yesterday's 3-0 win over Atromitos in the Europa League playoff round: "Very good win yesterday.. We r ready for Europe!

"Amazing atmosphere again @ the Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium", Van Persie added.

Fenerbahce will visit Celtic Park to play the Bhoys on Thursday 1st October, their second group game.

They will then host Celtic in Istanbul in their final group game on Thursday 10th December.

Van Persie will be keen for his side to make progress in the Europa League this season after they missed out on reaching the Champions League group stage.
