Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that Serbian winger Lazar Markovic has a future at the club despite the fact he appears to be close to joining Fenerbahce on a season-long loan.
Rodgers splashed £20m to sign Markovic from Benfica last summer, but the starlet struggled to nail down a regular first team spot at Anfield.
His situation has not improved in the current campaign and Markovic is tipped to join Turkish outfit Fenerbahce on loan.
Rodgers was asked at a press conference this morning to comment on the move and whether Markovic still has a future at the club.
"Firstly, he does yes", Rodgers replied.

"And secondly, in terms of ins and outs, I won't be speaking on any of the transfers ins and outs."
The Liverpool manager was though prepared to comment on Mario Balotelli's loan switch to AC Milan and believes it will be a good move for the striker.
"No [I don’t regret the signing].
"Only the fact that it's a good move for Mario. He goes to play and gets a season of playing football in his homeland and that will be good for him."
Balotelli has vowed to turn over a new leaf with the Rossoneri, but has insisted Rodgers' style of football at Liverpool did not suit him.
