Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Manchester United over goalkeeper David de Gea, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

De Gea has been desperate to join Real Madrid this summer, turning down offers to extend his contract at Old Trafford, but Los Blancos have consistently refused to meet Manchester United's €40m asking price.

Now there has been a breakthrough with an agreement claimed to have been reached with Manchester United to sign De Gea for a fee of between €30m and €35m.

Real Madrid are now speeding ahead to complete the transfer before the window slams shut in Spain today, but they are already thought to have personal terms ironed out for the goalkeeper, meaning finalising the deal should be straightforward.

Talks are now set to get under way on Manchester United signing Keylor Navas from Real Madrid.

It is unclear however whether Navas is open to joining Manchester United as he has consistently maintained his desire to remain at the Bernabeu.
