Former England captain Alan Shearer has slammed Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for failing to sign a top striker this summer.

The transfer window in England has closed a short while ago, but there is a feeling that the north London duo have failed to strengthen significantly, especially up front.

Shearer has been scathing in his assessment of the north London rivals and feels Tottenham’s season depends on the fitness of Harry Kane.

The former England striker wrote on Twitter: “So a total of zero forwards are on their way to north London!

“Tottenham & Arsenal still short up top. Tottenham had better hope Harry Kane stays fit!”
