Leeds United starlet Lewis Cook is relishing the chance to pull on a Three Lions shirt for England's Under-19 side over the international break.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been called into the Young Lions group for two fixtures over the international period.

England Under-19s play Germany in Gladbach on Friday before then moving to Zagreb to lock horns with Croatia on Monday.

Cook is relishing the two fixtures and believes the number of players in the squad with senior first team football experience will be a big benefit to coach Aidy Boothroyd.

He is still anticipating a tough pair of fixtures though and told The FA's site: "It'll be tough, especially Germany. We've played them a few times before and they are a really good passing team.

"We look forward to tests like that though and I think it'll be really good for us.

"We have the qualifiers coming up so we will be using these games to make sure we are in the right shape for them.

"Everyone is doing really well and the majority of the squad have played first-team football now."

Cook is a regular fixture for Leeds, turning out in the Championship for Uwe Rosler's men as a key player despite his tender years.

The midfielder was linked with several Premier League clubs over the summer transfer window, but remained at Elland Road.
