Manchester United have sent out a signal that they are ready to reintegrate David de Gea into their first team selection plans after including the goalkeeper in their Champions League squad list.

De Gea came within a whisker of moving to Real Madrid on Monday night, but the paperwork relating to his switch was not filed by the Spanish club after the deadline for moves in the country passed.

As a result De Gea has been left marooned at Manchester United, where he has not been included in a matchday squad this season due to an alleged lack of focus.

But in their updated squad list submitted to UEFA on Tuesday, De Gea is included in Manchester United's squad for the group stage.

De Gea has less than a year to run on his current contract at Manchester United and could walk away on a free transfer next summer.
