United Arab Emirates side Al Ahli have told former Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi that he is free to look for a new club.

Al Ahli have just drafted in Moussa Sow, snapping up the striker from Turkish giants Fenerbahce for €16m, while they snapped up striker Lima from Benfica for €7m earlier this summer.

Assaidi will not be feeding the prolific pair with chances though and according to United Arab Emirates daily the National, the winger has been given permission to move elsewhere.

The former Heerenveen man is now discussing a move with a number of other clubs in the United Arab Emirates top flight.

Liverpool signed Assaidi from Dutch outfit Heerenveen in 2012, paying a fee of around £2.4m for his services.

He struggled to make an impact at Anfield though and was loaned out to Stoke City in two successive spells, before then being sold to Al Ahli.

The United Arab Emirates giants handed Liverpool a profit on Assaidi, signing the winger for a fee of around £4.7m in January this year.
